@Whpq:Hi i edited the Purpose,so please removed the tag AbchyZa22 (talk) 17:26, 2 February 2025 (UTC)
- Non-free content must meet all of the non-free content criteria. Simply illustrating a plane is not sufficient to meet WP:NFCC#8. As well, there is no indication why a free image cannot be made (WP:NFCC#1) -- Whpq (talk) 03:02, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher)@AbchyZa22: There are two other photos of the plane being used in Aerolíneas Estelar, and these photos seem more than sufficient for Wikipedia's purposes per WP:FREER. Is there something really wrong with these two photos that makes the non-free one you upload better to use? Is there some reason why someone (not necessarily you yourself but someone else) can't take a photo of this plane and then release it under an license that's OK for Wikipedia even if the two photos currently being used are a problem? Unless the answer to these two questions is clearly "no", there's pretty much no way to justify the use of any non-free photo of this particular plane per Wikipedia's non-free content use policy in any Wikipedia article, and the file you uploaded really needs to be deleted for the reasons given by Whpq above. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:23, 5 February 2025 (UTC)

Question from AndrewThe12th (23:43, 6 February 2025)
[edit]Why Don’t Drafts Look That Good? --AndrewThe12th (talk) 23:43, 6 February 2025 (UTC)
- I assume you are referring to the declined submission of User:AndrewThe12th/sandbox. Wikipedia is for encyclopedia articles. What you wrote in your sandbox is not an encyclopedia article. -- Whpq (talk) 00:17, 7 February 2025 (UTC)
- How Do I Make It A Article? AndrewThe12th (talk) 17:13, 8 February 2025 (UTC)
- Wikipedia articles are about notable topics. What you have written is just a short blurb about yourself an your understanding of Wikipedia. That is not a suitable for an encyclopedia article. -- Whpq (talk) 22:20, 8 February 2025 (UTC)

Question from Dr. Gizaw Sufi Bane on User:Dr. Gizaw Sufi Bane/sandbox (14:36, 9 February 2025)
[edit]how to save my file --Dr. Gizaw Sufi Bane (talk) 14:36, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- I assume you are asking about how to prevent User:Dr. Gizaw Sufi Bane/sandbox from being deleted. Unfortunately, I do not think that is possible. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and topics need to meet the inclusion criteria to be published as an article. What I see in your sandbox is not an encyclopedia, but rather a resume. Wikipedia is not a web host for resumes. Writing about yourself is also not a good idea. See Wikiedia's guidance on autobiographies for more information. Finally, it is quite clear you have used some sort of tool for article generation such as ChatGPT. These are prone to introducing errors and their use is often not acceptable. -- Whpq (talk) 15:39, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
Question from Prajwal wikipedi (14:05, 12 February 2025)
[edit]Hi sir Please help to create new wikipedia about Kodagu arebhashe gowda community --Prajwal wikipedi (talk) 14:05, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- I cannot help your create your article, but I can provide some advice. Creating an article from scratch is one of the hardest things to do on Wikipedia, and that is especially true for new editors. My first bit of advice is to work on improving existing topics on Wikipedia. This will help you get familiar with editing, and some relevant policies. Once you are more comfortable with editing and related policies, you can start a draft to work on it until you feel it is in shape to be an article. You can submit this for review through Articles for Creation where you can get feedback on your draft. Help:Your first article, and Help:Referencing for beginners are useful pages to read before starting your draft. Cheers and happy editing. -- Whpq (talk) 15:00, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
Question from Keith Edward Blount (00:49, 13 February 2025)
[edit]NATO leadership will meet in Vilnius for the NATO Summit, happening on the 11th and 12th of July. Topics such as Russia’s illegal war of aggression against Ukraine, challenges represented by China, as well as the accession and integration of Sweden, are all key discussion priorities for the Summit. --Keith Edward Blount (talk) 00:49, 13 February 2025 (UTC)

Question from Caseohsno1fan (19:08, 17 February 2025)
[edit]i dont have much information about who im gonna write about , im gonna write about case baker [caseOh] the streamer --Caseohsno1fan (talk) 19:08, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
- Writing an article from scratch is one of the most difficult things to do on Wikipedia. You may want to try editing existing article to become more familiar with editing Wikipedia before starting a new article. When you do decide to write the article, you need to be aware that that topics need to meet Wikipedia's inclusion criteria which is usually referred to as notability. You will want to read HELP:Your first article. Establishing that the article meets the inclusion criteria is usually done by showing there is significant independent reliable sources about the topic. These would form the references in the article. See HELP:Referencing for beginners for more information. Cheers. -- Whpq (talk) 04:12, 18 February 2025 (UTC)
Question from TotaFrisia (03:10, 18 February 2025)
[edit]Hi, I am working on a big update of the page 'County of East Frisia'. The edit is currently in my Sandbox. Can I, when it is ready, copy it one-on-one to the page of the 'County of East Frirsia'? --TotaFrisia (talk) 03:10, 18 February 2025 (UTC)
- It is generally a bad idea to replace an article with a sandbox version because you need to ensure that any edits that have been made to the article since you first copied the article are incorporated. In your case, it looks like there have been change made since you copied the article. You must make sure those changes are incorporated. In the future, I suggest that you make changes directly to an existing article. -- Whpq (talk) 04:19, 18 February 2025 (UTC)
I would like to remove a line in the page of Francesca Albanese https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francesca_Albanese
Text to be removed is
and Research Fellow at the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam.
The text is twice in the page.
The info is incorrect but I cannot edit the page, it's protected. I have used the talkpage but i noticed that also a colleague has done that before me without any result. --Snijhof (talk) 22:21, 18 February 2025 (UTC)
- Using an edit request is the correct way to request a change, but you need to be very specific. State exactly what text is to be removed, and what text is to be added. Editors who review edit requests are unlikely to act on some general instructions. The other challenge you have to getting your request done is that there is a source in the article that specifically states that Albanese is a research fellow. You will need to provide evidence that Albanese is not a research fellow. -- Whpq (talk) 23:03, 18 February 2025 (UTC)

Undo deletion, "Vapsid Estonia"
[edit]Could you undo the deletion of "Vapsid Estonia"? I created "Vapsid Estonia," I did not want to display or show my real name all over the article, I tried putting my username, "jd5124682," but as I am writing this to you, it did not work. So could you undo the speedy deletion or maybe redirect me to someone that can better help me with my case? Jd5124682 (talk) 12:40, 11 March 2025 (UTC)

Question from Charlieemmersonmarketing (11:42, 13 March 2025)
[edit]Have I done enough edits to publish yet? --Charlieemmersonmarketing (talk) 11:42, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher) Hi, while you can technically publish, you are strongly recommended to use the articles for creation process for your first few edits. Also, you should declare any conflicts of interests that you have with the article subjects. Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 16:48, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
- Chaotic Enby has answered your question, but I will add some more information for you on your talk page. -- Whpq (talk) 18:45, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
Hi there. I received some helpful feedback from your team regarding recent updates to some pages related to my employer. While it was suggested I might be biased, I am familiar with your rules and provided citations for each edit I made. To date, my edits seem in tact, but I wanted to check with you to ensure I am acting appropriately and with integrity, as that is my goal. --Seatonr18 (talk) 21:14, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
- You need to make a declaration that you are editing an article for you employer. See WP:PAID for more information. You should not edit any further until you make this declaration. Best practice would be for you to make edit requests for the changes instead of directly editing the article. -- Whpq (talk) 22:09, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
File:PNND Assembly - Astana, 2012.jpg
[edit]Hi Whpq. Could you take a look at File:PNND Assembly - Astana, 2012.jpg? There is a copyright statement at the bottom of the sourced website as the file's description states, but there's no mention of a specific license. -- 02:51, 14 March 2025 (UTC) Marchjuly (talk) 02:51, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
- The copyright notice also includes some additional information
All content on this website, if not indicated otherwise, can be shared freely with attribution to PNND
but that statement is silent on derivatives and commercial use. It certainly is not the free use that is declared on the file. -- Whpq (talk) 13:01, 14 March 2025 (UTC)- The uploader subsequently added
{{CopyrightedFreeUse-Link}}
as the file's license. I don't think that resolves the issue, but I'm not sure. Is the file's licensing now OK or is VRT verification required here per WP:F11? -- Marchjuly (talk) 20:20, 14 March 2025 (UTC)- The site's copyright statement does not support the claimed license. -- Whpq (talk) 20:26, 14 March 2025 (UTC)
- I've tagged the file with
{{npd}}
. If there's a better way to deal with this, feel freeto revert me. The uploader is a student editor participating in in the Wiki Ed course Wikipedia:Wiki Ed/UBC/HIST 432 2025 (Spring). I'll post something about this on the student's Wiki Ed advisor's user talk page. Egon Huber draft
[edit]Hi - thanks very much for taking a look at my draft submission for a page on the influential Austrian ceramicist EGON HUBER. I can confirm that the website you refer to (www.tambent.com) is my own personal site that I have been running for many years. The images I have included on my draft Huber page are also my own, taken recently on the Greek island of Rhodes where Huber lived and worked for decades, during which time he developed the iconographic style for ICARO pottery that is now much sought after. He also during that time became a close friend of the writer Lawrence Durrell. I do hope this clears up the matter but if it does not satisfy you I will be prepared to remove the links/references to my site www.tambent.com. Thanks again and look forward to your reply when you have a moment to reconsider. Riga-to-Rangoon (talk) 04:55, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
